It is finally summer here in DC.
This popular annual event has a new location – beautiful Watkins Regional Park. There IS something for everyone at this fun day of cooking competition! Cooks from up and down the East Coast will be competing for a spot in the national competition in Kansas City. You’ll get a chance to join the fun by voting for the best BBQ sauce in the “People’s Choice BBQ Sauce Contest.” A variety of pork, beef and chicken BBQ will be available for purchase from food vendors. Bowiefest is a long-standing tradition in the City that brings the best of Bowie’s civic organizations, entertainers, and businesses to one place for one day. Around the pond you can sample food from area vendors including cotton candy by the Collington Masons, fish & chips provided by the Bowie Xpress, and beef barbecue by the Belle-Aires Twirlers. Other festival favorites include soft serve ice cream, funnel cakes, Italian sausage, frozen fruit drinks, and fresh-squeezed lemonade.
