No Knead Pizza

Crispy pizza crust using no knead bread dough. Simple preparation with pizza stone creates a delicious golden brown crust.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups bread flour or all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon instant dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 3/4 cup pizza sauce
  • 10 oz cheese
  • favorite toppings

Instructions

  • Mix flour, salt and yeast in a bowl. Use only 1/4 teaspoon yeast (1/9 of a packet).
  • Mix in 1 1/2 cups water until flour is moist. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit 12-18 hours at room temperature.
  • Flour counter and turn dough out. Divide in half and form two dough balls. Cover with towel and let rise 2-4 hours.
  • Preheat oven to highest setting (550°F) with pizza stone on lowest rack.
  • Cover pizza peel or upside down cookie sheet with cornmeal or semolina.
  • Form one dough ball into a pizza shape and top with sauce, cheese, and toppings.
  • Place pizza on stone and bake 10-14 minutes until crust is golden brown.
  • Cut and serve.

Notes

Pizza stone is required for this recipe to achieve proper browning and crispy crust. Do not overload with toppings to avoid a soggy crust. A pizza peel or upside down cookie sheet works to transfer dough to stone.
