Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup warm water 110 degrees
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast 1/4 tsp

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven fitted with a pizza stone to 500 degree Fahrenheit.
  • In a small bowl combine the yeast, sugar and warm water. Let sit for 5 -10 minutes or until nice and bubbly.
  • Add the dough hook to your stand mixer. Then in the bowl of your mixer, add the flour and salt. Then slowly pour in the yeast mixture. Mix to combine.
  • Once you have a nice ball formed, turn to medium/high and knead the dough for 5 minutes.
  • Turn the dough out onto a flour surface and divide into two.
  • Then using a rolling pin flatten the dough into a 12" round pizza crust. This will take some energy to do. I found that it is easier to do in between two sheets of parchment paper.
  • Once the dough is flat, dock it with a fork or other pointed instrument. This will prevent it from forming huge blisters.
  • Place the dough onto a pizza peel and slide it into the oven. Blind bake the pizza crust for 5 minutes.
  • Remove the crust top with your favorite toppings and return to the oven for 5-7 more minutes or until the toppings are heated and the cheese is melted.
