Thermapen Mk4 released today along with Timestick Giveaway!!!

Today Thermoworks is releasing the new Thermapen Mk4.  This is like Christmas over here at Savory Reviews.  We love our Thermapen and Thermoworks products so much.  Just like most people can’t wait for the new Apple products, we can’t wait for new Thermoworks products.  The new Thermapen looks like the old thermapen, but has an auto-rotating screen, back-lit display and uses a common AAA battery.   No more searching for 2032 batteries.  We have AAA batteries everywhere.  The Thermapen Mk4 is going to be the coolest tool in my BBQ arsenal.  The best thing is that it is only $99.  The classic superfast thermapens are still available and have dropped in price to $79. Check out our Full Review Here!

New Thermapen Mk4 Stats…

  • Patented auto-rotating display.Hold the Thermapen Mk4 in either hand or any angle and the display intuitively flips right-side up. Switch hands while cooking and read the Mk4 without cocking your head.
  • Intelligent backlight. The Mk4 knows when it’s dark and runs on the backlight for you, making it easy to read at dusk or complete darkness while preserving battery life. Touch the light sensor window anytime with your finger and the display lights up to improve visibility at the back of the stove or when reaching into an oven.
  • Motion-sensing sleep mode. Set your Thermapen Mk4 down during use, it shuts off and sleep mode saves battery life. Pick the Mk4 up, it comes on instantly and stays on while in your hand.
  • Now Waterproof. Now waterproof to IP67.
  • Battery life extended up to 3,000 hours. Depending on backlight usage, battery life has gone from 1,500 to 3,000 hours. The motion-sensing sleep mode and light-sensing backlight mean fewer battery changes. When you do change the battery, use a common AAA battery.

  • Sourdough Bread

A couple of weeks ago I made a sourdough starter and ever since I have been getting emails about making bread.  I made pizza’s and pancakes but failed to make good ole sourdough bread.  So today I made sourdough bread. Sourdough bread is pretty easy, it just takes some time.

  • Food Processor Pie Crust

Last week I wanted to bake a few pies for Thanksgiving.  However, I did not have any pie crusts and I really dreaded making my own.  Pie crusts are a pain in the butt.  Then I discovered an old food processor that Dana and I had.  Who knew that we owned one.  Anyways, 3o seconds…

  • How to Roast Garlic

Garlic is a great ingredient.  However, roasted garlic is an amazing ingredient.  Roasting garlic brings out its natural sweetness and takes the bitterness away.  One of the most popular questions that I receive is, “How do you roast garlic”?  Hopefully today’s post will answer your questions.

  • Roasted Cauliflower

The other week I was looking through my recipes and I found a recipe for roasted broccoli.  Sounded good, but I had cauliflower in the fridge.  The recipe was simple and tasty so I substituted the cauliflower for the broccoli and added a bit of paprika to add color and a little smokiness.  This created…

Dana and I love Chinese Takeout.  However, the last time we ordered from our favorite joint we got sick.  So we have halted on our orders.  So I decided to try to make one of our favorite dishes at home.  Beef with String Beans is simple, delicious and could not be that hard to replicate….

  1. This is a great! You can use it in the dark and uses triple AAA batteries. You can also use it with either hand. I Love it! That’s what she said!

  2. ive never had an oven thermometer that works – always just guess on the cooking times. This looks like a great product!

  3. I’d love to win this since I replaced my microwave recently and my new one doesn’t have a timer…I miss it! I have to time everything since I always seem to get distracted when I’m cooking. I like the hanging option on the Timestick, I would probably wear it 🙂 Pick me please!!!
