The Bocce Ball

Sorry that cocktail day is one day late.  It was Dana’s Birthday yesterday and we had to celebrate in style.  However, today I am making a traditional cocktail.  It is on the same lines with a screwdriver, but with a little twist.  A little OJ, a little vodka, some amaretto and a touch of seltzer.  This cocktail is a tad more refined than the traditional screwdriver.  Plus, it has a little bubbly kick.

The Bocce Ball

  • 1 1/2 oz vodka
  • 1/2 oz amaretto
  • 4 oz orange juice
  • 1 oz seltzer

Fill a rocks glass with ice.  Add the vodka and amaretto.  Cover with the orange juice and finally top with the seltzer.

The Bocce Ball

This drink is a nice refined twist on the traditional.  It adds the sweet kick of amaretto, but cuts the sweetness with a little seltzer.  Plus the fizz gives you another layer of flavor.  When the bubbles pop you get the aroma blasted into your nose.

It is a great cocktail.

    Quick Chicken Stir-Fry

The other day I wanted something quick to eat.  Nothing screams fast, like stir-fry.  So I decided to go and see what looked good at the market.  I found some broccoli and bell peppers.  Plus, Dana loves water chestnuts so I added a can of those.  To be honest, they are my favorite part too….
