Bourbon Collins
With summer upon us, it is time to start enjoying some refreshing cocktails out by the barbecue.  Nothing says barbecue like bourbon, so we created a cocktail that is a twist on a classic.  We substituted bourbon for the gin in a Tom Collins and came out with a winner.  If you are looking for a light and refreshing bourbon cocktail, this is your recipe.

Bourbon Collins
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, mix 2 ounces of bourbon, 1 ounce of simple syrup (which is equivalent to about 4 teaspoonfuls of sugar) and one ounce of fresh squeezed lemon juice. Shake well to blend and really chill the ingredients.
Strain into a Collins glass filled with ice.

Fill the glass the rest of the way with club soda, stir and optionally garnish with a slice of orange and a cherry.
