Homemade Shamrock Shake

Shamrock ShakeCome February every year, I am always on the look out for the golden arches to release the Shamrock Shake.  I love that minty, delicious and creepy green milkshake.  I dream about throughout the year.  So I decided to go and try to make it myself.  It was simple and now I can drink them all year long.

Homemade Shamrock Shake

Fill a blender with 2 cups of vanilla ice cream.  Make sure not to use the natural vanilla as the black vanilla bean bits will stand out in the shake.  It is a tad creepy looking.

Fill the blender with the ingredients

Add 1 1/4 cups milk.

Then add 1/4 tsp mint extract and 10 drops of green food color.

Homemade Shamrock Shake

Blend until smooth.  Top with whipped cream and you have a delicious Shamrock Shake Clone.

  2. I'm crazy about Shamrock Shakes, too! They are the only reason we go to McDonald's 🙂 For some reason or other I'd never thought to make my own (even though I make chocolate malts), but I will definitely need to make one soon!

    1. @cheesewithnoodles, I have never tried them at home till a week ago. They are so easy to make, I feel silly going out and paying McDonalds for one.
