The Herb Garden

I decided to try to grow my own herbs and peppers this year. In doing so I am going to use a self watering indoor plant starter that I purchased from Lowes.
The list includes:

  1. Cilantro
  2. Italian Parsley
  3. Basil
  4. Chives
  5. Thyme
  6. Rosemary
  7. Dill
  8. Cayenne Peppers
  9. Poblano Peppers
  10. Jalepeno Peppers
  11. Habenero Peppers
  12. Serrano Peppers

Starting the Herb Garden indoors helps to make sure that all of the plants germinate and are strong enough to survive outside. Plus, I am lazy and affraid of the sun so this was pretty much the only option.

To start I had twelve rows of plant starters. I labeled each row, watered the starters to moisten (what a weird word, moisten) them and get them ready for planting. Then I put three to four seeds in each starter and I was on my way. This is just a side note. When planting hot pepper seeds it is recommended that you wash your hands before going to the bathroom. I learned the hard way and don’t think that you should have to go throught the agony. Lets just say it burned. A lot.

Once all of the starters had seeds in them, I filled the reservoir and added the lid.

The cool part about starting the seeds indoors is that the indoor plant starter does not need direct sunlight. So you can put above the refrigerator, in the corner on top of a end table, or just where ever you have room.

In about two weeks I should have a update and pics of the new plants.
