Thin Crust Taco Pizza

As noted in my thin crust pizza dough post, Stevi B’s pizza buffet is my son’s favorite place to eat.  While he loves pizza, we all know it is because they have a nice arcade.  Either way, Dana and I have grown to love the the thin crust taco pizza.  This is my take on this delicious pie.  You have to try this Thin Crust Taco Pizza!

Thin Crust Taco Pizza

The first step is to make your dough. My favorite super quick and easy thin crust dough is right here Thin Crust Pizza Dough.

Then using a rolling pin flatten the dough into a 12″ round pizza crust.  This will take some energy to do.  I found that it is easier to do in between two sheets of parchment paper.

Once the dough is flat, dock it with a fork or other pointed instrument.  This will prevent it from forming huge blisters.

Place the dough onto a pizza peel and slide it into the oven. Blind bake the pizza crust for 5 minutes.

Layer the ingredients

Once removed top with your favorite prepared taco sauce, taco meat, sliced red onions and taco chip bits.

Top with cheese

Then top with cheddar cheese.

Place back into the oven and cook for another 5-8 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the toppings are hot.

Taco Pizza

Once the pizza is removed from the oven top with the diced tomatoes and lettuce.  Cut and serve.

Ingredients
  

Taco Pizza
  • 1 thin crust pizza dough recipe
  • 1/2 cup prepared taco sauce
  • 1 cup prepared taco meat
  • 1 small tomato cubed
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
  • 1/4 cup semi-crushed tortilla chips
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped lettuce
Ground Beef Taco Meat
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbs taco seasoning
Taco Seasoning
  • 3 tbs paprika
  • 2 tbs chili powder
  • 1 tbs sugar
  • 1 tbs garlic powder
  • 3 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/4 tsp chipoltle pepper ground optional
