The supermarket by my house makes these crunchy cookies that are filled with walnuts and have a chewy center. They are addictive. So I decided to look around and find a recipe for them. After a while I discovered a recipe that sounds delicious. Although it did not contain nuts, I figured we could work around it.

They are super tasty and awesome.
Chocolate Chewies – (adapted from Recipezaar)
- 1 1/4 cups butter, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 cups unsifted flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
The first step is to preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Next place the softened butter and sugar in a bowl and cream them together.

Then add the vanilla and eggs and continue to mix.
While the mixture is beating place the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl. Mix together.
Now slowly pour the flour mixture into the butter/sugar mixture.

Once the mixture is fully incorporated add the chocolate chips and walnuts.

Next grab about a tablespoon of dough and form 1 inch diameter balls. Then place them on a parchment or silicone lined baking sheet. Once on the baking sheet, use your hand to slightly flatten the dough ball.

Place in the preheated 350 degree oven for 12-15 minutes. When done remove the cookies from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet.

Once the pan is cool to the touch, remove the cookies and place them on a wire cooling rack.

These are some of the best chocolate cookies I have ever had.
Omg! These look delicious. Got any leftovers? I want to try them!!
