Every friday I pick the best culinary events in the DC area for my readers to enjoy. This weekend there are some great events to attend in and around the DC metro area.
Reston Taste of the Town – Friday to Saturday (June 12-13)
Taste of the Town is Northern Virginia’s largest outdoor food festival featuring delectable samplings from the region’s favorite eateries, live music both days, beer and wine gardens, and fun and games at Kids Korner. There are a ton of restaurants this year. Big Bowl, Buffalo Wing Factory, Clyde’s of Reston, Dinner Zen, Fresh City, Il Fornaio, La Madeline French Bakery, Market Street Bar & Grill, Mayuri Indian Cuisine, McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant, The Melting Pot, Milwaukee Frozen Custard (My Favorite), M&S Grill, Mon Ami Gabi, Obi Sushi, Paradise Ice Cream, PassionFish, Paolo’s Ristorante, Red Hot & Blue, Uno Chicago Grill, Vie de France Bakery Cafe, and Vinifera Wine Bar & Bistro.
Parking and admission are free, you just need to purchase tickets to taste the food. The tickest are cheap, just $1 each. The “tastes” are individually priced between 1-5 tickets. A portion of ticket proceeds benefits INC.Spire.

Spike’d Sundays – Sunday (June 14)
If you didn’t go last week, Former “Top Chef” Spike Mendelsohn hosts this summer-long pool party, with burgers, drinks and swimming. Located at Best Western Capitol Skyline Hotel, 10 I St SW, Washington, DC. Entry is $10 and includes a Spike Burger.
Learn How to Host the Perfect Happy Hour- Monday (June 15)
Wildfire @ Tysons Galleria ( www.wildfirerestaurant.com ) is hosting an event on how to make your next happy hour at home the best hour! Learn tips on pairing cocktails and appetizers. Try some Wildfire favorites such as Stormy Night, Clementine Crush, Classic Mojito and Premium Margarita. Taste some of our favorite appetizers, paired to complement the drinks. Wildfire Director of Wine and Spirits Brad Wermager teaches guests how to throw the perfect happy hour. The cost of the event is $30 per person, tax and gratuity included.
