What to do this weekend in DC (July 17-19)

Every Friday I pick the best culinary events in the DC area for my readers to enjoy. This weekend there are some great events to attend in and around the DC metro area.

Artscape – Friday thru Sunday (July 17-19)

Artscape is America’s largest free arts festival.  Along with visual art they also have a lineup of performers.  Live entertainment includes Dionne Warwick, Cake, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Robin Thicke, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Acrobats of China, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra … and more.  There is something on the schedule for everyone to enjoy!

The festival is located on Mount Royal Avenue & Cathedral Street / Charles Street

Hours: Friday: 12-10pm / Saturday: 12-10pm / Sunday: 12-8pm

Bubble Days – Saturday & Sunday (July 18-19)

The Maryland Science Center is hosting the 4th annual Bubble Days.  It explores the art and science behind bubbles.  The even is from noon to four each day.  The kicker is that they are having a bubble gum blowing competition.

Fauquier County Fair – Friday thru Sunday (July 17-19)

Fauquier County Fair is a good old fashioned county fair.  Who doesn’t love cotton candy, caramel corn, corn dogs, and elephant ears.  Located about 40 minutes from DC in Warrenton, Va this is a can’t miss.  Honestly, who doesn’t love a fair.

Friday & Saturday $10 (13 & older) $5 ( 12 &under), babes in arms Free!
Sunday $5 per person
Senior Day on Friday 11-4pm $5 (55 & older)

Located in Fauquier county @ 6209 Old Auburn Road, Warrenton, Va.

Spike’d Sundays – Sunday (July 19)

If you didn’t go last week, Former “Top Chef” Spike Mendelsohn hosts this summer-long pool party, with burgers, drinks and swimming. Located at Best Western Capitol Skyline Hotel, 10 I St SW, Washington, DC. Entry is $10 and includes a Spike Burger.
