Last week I picked up some different rums to make the hurricane cocktail for Mardi Gras. Since I had some extra lying around I decided to make another cocktail. This one combines my two favorite juices, orange juice and cranberry juice.
I served it straight up in a Martini glass but also enjoyed it on the rocks.
The Rumster
- 3/4 oz light rum
- 3/4 oz dark rum
- 1/2 oz triple sec
- 3 oz orange juice
- 3 oz cranberry juice
- squeeze lemon
- cherry for garnish
In a shaker full of ice mix all of the ingredients. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with a cherry.
You can also rim the glass with sugar, but I failed to do that in the picture. 🙁
Enjoy!
With all of that juice in there, can this qualify as a "health drink" ? 🙂
I would totally consider this a health drink. Lots of Vitamin C.
Rex. I Steven marx from cin Ohio invented the true rumster I gave the recipe to a bartender at bourbon on the beach 5 years ago it goes like this.. spice rum. Coconut rum ,2 shots monster low carb 2 shot triple sec and shot orange juice..I have over 30 people I have this 2 in the last 7 years.but yours sounds good but it needs low carb monster to be a true Rumstet
Mr. Marx, yours sounds good too. However, as you can tell from the date of the post this was created well over 11 years ago. I must say this Rumster was first!
Prune juice my tuchas (or in Bachman speak two kass). I think brgining the pitchforks was a fitting metaphor. It is shocking and fascinating how powerful a movement like the Tea Party became and so quickly. Don’t think the Dems could pull off the same. Conservatives don’t hate old people, they hate takers and users ..ie those who don’t contribute and leech off the society of those who work hard and are successful (reference the ant and the grasshopper ). Accomplished people don’t want to support the lazy. Of course there are those who must be taken care of, but not druggies and welfare abusers. They’ve been coddled for too long. They laugh at Liberals whose hearts are breaking all the time (see Bonnie K., mi esposa, who can’t wait to cry at every NPR story so that she can send money to their causes).
