It has been super nice here in DC. This weekend is supposed to reach the 80’s. So I decided to make a nice refreshing cocktail. This week’s cocktail is the strawberry daiquiri. This is a quick and easy rum based drink, as long as you have a blender. No blender, then this might not be your drink. However, if you have a blender, you are gonna be transported to a tropical island.
Garnished with a simple strawberry this cocktail will socially lubricate the best of them.
Strawberry Daiquiri
- 2 oz rum
- 1 oz lime juice
- 1/2 oz triple sec
- 1/2 oz simple syrup (may need more depending on the ripeness of the strawberries)
- 1 cup ice
- 7 strawberries
Combine all of the ingredients into a blender and blend until the ice is completely crushed. Since this recipe calls for real strawberries you may have to taste and add more simple syrup. Strawberries are not always ripe, especially during March. Place in a wide rimmed glass and garnish with a strawberry.
This is a super tasty cocktail.
Bartender Tip of the Day
Quick and easy way to remove water spots from glasses
There is nothing more unappetizing than water spots on your cocktail glass. The quickest solution to remove water spots is to wipe the glass with a coffee filter. The filter is a smooth non-fibrous material that will remove the water spots and further not leave any fibers behind like a paper towel. Further, coffee filters are cheap, can be purchased in bulk and almost every house in America has them.
Time to get some coffee filters and strawberries. The gf is going to love you for this one.
Great tip about water spots. I have some glossy plates and this would probably work great on them too.
