Here is my Labor Day Menu. Â All grilled, all the time. Â It is the end of the summer and you and your family should spend the entire day outside. Â For that reason, my whole menu is cooked outdoors. Â It starts with some delicious shrimp and ends with a grilled nectarine. Â Also, included is a nice grilled lemonade cocktail that will keep you socially lubricated all day. Â Enjoy!
Labor Day Menu
Appetizer
An easy and simple grilled shrimp skewer that packs a ton of flavor.
Main
Grinding your own meat allows you to get more flavorful cuts. Â That way you do not have to add a ton of seasoning to the burger, to make it taste good. Â This burger only requires a bit of salt and you are good to go. Add your favorite cheese and you have the ultimate burger!
Sides
The best way to cook a sweet potato. Â The high heat sears the outside and makes the sweet potatoes come out super sweet and tender in around 45 minutes.
Roasted Corn and Black Bean Salad
I am a huge fan of grilling. The only problem is that most sides are not grilled. This salad solves that problem. The corn is fire roasted on the grill so you can make it right along with your steak or barbecue dishes. In addition the grilled corn adds a bit of smokiness to the salad to make a complimentary flavor to your barbecues. This is a great side dish for your summer picnic or barbecue.
Dessert
Balsamic and Honey Glazed Nectarines
I have discovered that stone fruit works great on the grill. Â This is the type of fruit with a hard pit in the center. Â Peaches, nectarines, etc. Â Then I discovered that honey and balsamic vinegar work really well together. I must say that if you have never combined honey and balsamic vinegar, you have never lived. Â It is delicious. Â A must try.
Cocktail
Grilled Vodka Lemonade Spritzer
Grilled lemonade, vodka and splash of seltzer makes this a refreshing cocktail for those hot summer nights.
